October 30, 2017

Dear Pomeroy Community,

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the appointed Acting Principal of Pomeroy Elementary School. I am returning to where I started my educational career in Santa Clara Unified School District and where my heart truly lies.

I have been a classroom teacher for ten years, a reading recovery teacher for five years, and I have spent the past two years in the role of Elementary Science Teacher on Special Assignment. I received my Bachelor of Science from San Jose State University and my Master of Science in Applied School Leadership from National University. I have worked with students from Transitional Kindergarten through Fifth grade. I am eager to bring my skills as an educational leader to Pomeroy and work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child’s success.

I am dedicated to the success of all learners, I believe it takes parents, teachers, staff and the community working together to meet the individual learning needs of all students, both academic and social. I enjoy working with students and supporting them as they become lifelong learners. I am delighted to have the chance to work with such amazing teachers, staff, families, students, and community of Pomeroy Elementary. Please come join me for coffee on Friday, November 17th in the cafeteria right after the lifeskills assembly.

Warm Regards,

Mrs. Data

The Air Quality Index for our area has been affected by the North Bay fires. Schools within Santa Clara Unified will be taking the following precautionary measures to help protect our students and staff:

  • PE sessions will take place indoors and only non-aerobic activities are advised.
  • Recess will be held indoors.
  • We will monitor the Air Quality Index for our area hourly and post updates if any new information arises.

Our thoughts are with the families affected and the brave people fighting the wildfires.
