Reminders

Homework Menu

At the beginning of each month, a Homework Menu is sent home in your child's yellow folder. There are 10-15 homework "choices" that your child can select throughout the month. Homework Menus allow you and your child to decide how much homework and what activity to complete each night.

Research shows that excessive homework in the elementary grades is not related to student success or mastery of the content, but spending some time on educational or school-related activities after school sends a clear message to students that school is important, and reinforces the skills they have learned.

Reading Log

It is always important for your child to read, read, read! Please help your child fill out the reading log that is provided with the Homework Menu. Reading for 10-20 minutes each day helps your child practice the skills they have learned in class and improve the more they read.
